etc info: -past: katrien's ethnicity links her back to a clan which had strong shamanistic ties. because of this, she was brought up with the belief that otherworldy ties and tribal magic were possible. as she matured and moved to a more urban area, this lessened, and her beliefs diminished. she was entranced by the lights of traffic, the movement of suburbia and urban areas, at first, and her markings followed suit. however, later on in her teens she experienced a re-awakening of her tribal roots. because she lives in a world where the distortion of mental perspective causes reality to follow suit [if strong enough], her dreams affected her waking life. unbeknownst to her she was the great-grandaughter of a powerful shamaness, and the attention she paid to urban life instead of her past caused a subconscious guilt to arise. the powers latent in her began to arise stronger, and without her control, when she was asleep, and especially between sleeping and waking. katrien's ability to control this and lessen it will only occur when she realizes the fraily and faults in modern urban society. -personality: katrien is constantly curious about the world around her. she is not very outgoing but not very shy. she doesn't smile often but is not depressed. she still needs to get her life straightened out in front of her, but does not know how to do this, and is constantly indecisive.
