etc info:
-past: horace was a priest in krovlandia, a missionary from zamertnyj when it was still strong. as krovlandia fell into civil ruin while he was there, his psyche also went under a strong revolution. while he had been raised as the only son to run the church in the town in which he grew up, he still had predominantly antisocial tendencies which he kept hidden. during the revolution, the need for him to cover this up disintegrated. with the collapse of the world, as well, certain delusions of grandeur worked alongside his antisociality. he burned the church he preached at, proclaiming god to be dead and "if we want to be like him, as we were meant to be [made in his image], we must die as well" -- and this was his mission in life. he went on proclaiming these things, burning churches throughout the revolution, etc. that is, until he was seriously injured by crossfire [or possibly on purpose]. he was left to die, but managed to survive due to the noardish scientists who took him and used him for experiments. horace was imbued with immortality and the desire and ability to kill both rationally and irrationally, and the need to kill religiously carried over from his former life even though he remembered none of it. he broke free of his capture when he came under realization the scientists were planning on ending the expiriment [and thus his life as well], and freed rek with him. he continued making false, delusionary logic justifying remorseless murder, and being the first impression that rek had upon waking, was able to temporarily convince her of this justification.
at first they both killed together, mostly the scientists; but rek soon realized she did not want to kill as he did, and, when he suspected her betrayal to him, horace attempted to kill her. she survived, being immortal as he was, and began the persuit of hunting him for decades.
horace later came into the contact with jaegerin, and with their similar outlooks on the religious and delusionary/antisocial outlooks on life/killing, they were able to work alongside for a long period of time.
-personality: aggressive, antisocial; has never seen people as anything but, as a priest, objects to convert and chastise, and as a killer, prey or objects. he finds humor in his actions and likes to taunt people to see what reactions they will have. if something does not interest him he will ignore it. very little actually gets to him, nerve-wise, and his aggression is more letting out energy than an expression of anger.
