name: elvira |
etc info: at the time that elvira started attending college, she was having some family/relationship issues. for her, there was too much going on at once. she had a small nervous breakdown/depressive state and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. elvira hides this fact as if it would be the undoing of her life [which, seeing the stereotypes of bipolar people, might be true]. through the years she has managed to have it under control. she tends to be more 'manic' than 'depressive'. while in a state of mania, she is prone to delusions, talks fast, is distracted easily, etc. while depressed, though not as common, is as, if not more, severe -- she becomes depersonalized, anxious, and may mildly hallucinate [voices, etc] and be paranoid. during one of these states she was unable to concentrate in school -- as well as not really being as interested in the subject as she used to be -- and failed the majority of her classes, resulting in a shock to her confidence. she was able to get over it, however, in some part to medication. -personality: elvira is bipolar. most of the time she is extremely happy, though her optimism can lead her into places where she thinks she can attain high standards when, in fact, she can't. she is, however, blissfully ignorant of this, and works her hardest to get what she wants, and this has gotten her relatively far. however, when sometimes her strivings fail completely, she is left in a very desolate place. she is personable and friendly and her mostly bright outlook is reflected in her clothes and music. despite the description of her illness, elvira is able to manage life as best as she can, and it never gets to the point where she loses control. |
